Applying for a faculty position marks a pivotal stage in one’s academic career—a crucial transition from researcher to independent scholar and educator. During this process, applicants often encounter multiple challenges: limited alignment between their research focus and job openings; research and teaching statements that fail to stand out; CVs and writing samples that lack coherence and highlights; unstructured interview strategies; and application materials that are insufficiently tailored or academically persuasive. These issues frequently cause even outstanding scholars to fall short in highly competitive recruitment processes. In response, the Poros Team has launched the customized faculty application service, jointly guided by senior professors from domestic and international universities as well as academic career development experts. This program helps applicants identify precise academic positioning, refine their professional profile, and enhance the quality and persuasiveness of application materials and interviews—enabling them to shine in the competitive academic job market.

Coaching Services

1. Job Strategy Customization (3–5 days)

  • Analyze the applicant’s research field, academic achievements, and career goals.
  • Develop a targeted job-search strategy and identify suitable institutions and positions.
  • Create a detailed application timeline and materials preparation plan.

2. Application Materials Preparation (1–2 weeks)

  • Provide guidance on writing key documents, including academic CVs, cover letters, and recommendation letters.
  • Optimize structure and expression to highlight scholarly contributions and teaching philosophy.
  • Advise on selection and presentation of representative publications or works.

3. Interview Preparation (1–2 weeks)

  • Conduct mock academic interviews and job talks, with detailed feedback and improvement suggestions.
  • Coach applicants on responding effectively to committee questions, projecting confidence and academic presence.
  • Offer guidance on negotiation and onboarding strategies.

Service Fees

  • Charged as a comprehensive service package.
  • A partial deposit is paid upon signing the service agreement; the remaining fee is due only after successful job placement.
  • No additional fees are charged if the applicant does not receive an offer.
