Poros Chronicle is a digital newspaper dedicated to telling the stories of Chinese Americans and serving the Chinese American community. Our mission is to capture the struggles, unique voices, and remarkable achievements of Chinese Americans in U.S. society through an authentic, diverse, and multidimensional perspective—presenting a vivid portrait of a community in motion. Through news reporting, feature projects, in-depth interviews, and video storytelling, we aim to uncover the narratives of the community, helping more people understand the lives, dreams, and challenges of Chinese Americans, while also providing a platform for self-expression, mutual support, and collective inspiration.
The name “Poros” comes from the god of resourcefulness in Greek mythology, symbolizing ingenuity and adaptability. This spirit reflects the experience of Chinese Americans: no matter what challenges they face, they respond with resilience and wisdom, writing their own stories on this land. From the pioneering struggles of the first generation of immigrants to the bold aspirations of the younger generation, each story carries sweat, courage, and hope.
